“ I’ve tried a lot of Chinese takeaway around Newcastle area and Ho Wah Restuarant is by far the best. Their special fried rice and honey chicken is a 10 for me I definitely will be back ”
“ Food is great, would say probably one of the best around the area, nothing to complain about the food quality! But the restaurant is begging for an upgrade, the interior is pretty outdated, you could also see many white plates with scuff marks, maybe they have been using them for ages ”

Very warm & welcoming. In my photos are pad thai, pork & chive dumplings, garlic prawns hot pot, satay chicken skewers(spicy) Sorry no pic, but they make THE best honey chicken!!! They have an apricot liquor from my home country, which is delicious. Always a nicecway to end the meal (even if not traditional) They also do pick up & takeaway, might take a little longer considering they are almost always busy. But you'll get it fresh and hot. I highly recommend this traditional Chinese restaurant. ”
“ Staff were very rude, seemed to want to rush us through the whole time. The soup I had was very watery. The veggies and dumplings were nice in it. Spring rolls were ok, I wouldn't recommend the plum sauce though. Garlic prawns once again lacked flavour like the soup, prawns and veggies were decent in it. Fried rice was ok. But there was one highlight here, that was the lemon chicken, now this was to die for. It was cooked perfectly, the sauce had the right amount of tang and fresh citrus balanced with the perfect amount of sweetness. The batter was crispy and the chicken was so moist and delicious. The best lemon chicken I have ever had. ”
“ Great food great restaurant only problem I have is that young girl that works at the front counter she’s like short. Well you will be eating and you look up and there she is just staring at you had made me feel very uncomfortable it’s like what are you staring at take a photo it lasts longer. If this girl continues to do it I’m sorry but I’ll have to stop coming here as really makes me feel awkward. Sorry I’m taken so she needs to stop she looks very young. If you could have a kind word with her that would be great other than this can’t fault the place other than being a bit pricey which is why only come every now and again. ”
